Returning to sites I investigated years ago in a series of sculptural documentations of demolition sites, I worked with found objects and digital projection.
The animation is a coarse time lapse of the opening of the last lotus blossom of the year from Echo Park and each sequence changes to another random color. The hanging steel fragment is a 700 lb. spill of foundry metal whose pattern and shape were formed into a curved form as it cooled.
Steel, Styrofoam, projection.
